On 1 April 2013 responsibility for the governance of policing across Scotland transferred to the Scottish Police Authority and Lothian and Borders Police Board ceased operations.
At the Board's final meeting on 18 March 2013, the Board noted a review of the Board’s 38-year history, outlining the way policing and its governance has evolved since the Board was founded in 1975.
