Procedures and Standing Orders

Standing Orders are a series of rules that explain how Police Board and its other formal meetings are run. They ensure that the Police Board works in a fair, consistent and transparent manner.

They explain:

  • how votes are taken
  • set out the types of decisions that will be taken by the Police Board and its Committees and Sub-Committees
  • how urgent decisions can be taken
  • the rules and procedures for Police Board Contracts.

Financial Regulations give information on the financial administration of the Police Board, including accounting, reporting, budgets and audit.

Scheme of Delegation explains the roles and responsibilities delegated by the Police Board to the Chief Constable or Board Officials.
